Juan Malk’s contenido contenido was selected for realisation in the third Artistic Interventions initiative at Bilbao Maritime Museum in 2015. Twenty-three proposals were submitted, and ten were chosen for the exhibition.
Juan Malk and the third container art initiative
The project was proposed by Aurtenetxea Containers in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Bilbao Maritime Museum and Bilbao City Council, as part of Bilbao Art District.
For the third year, Fine Arts students developed proposals for the museum’s interior space. The central condition was to work with shipping containers that had reached the end of their transport service and could be given a different use.
